It’s now time to get this project started so that it can develop into what was my original intention. My plan is for it to be a place to record the history of Axedale and it’s surrounding areas, both oral and photographic. I’m especially interested in recording this history from the point of view of as many locals as possible. Locals who have long been in the area and also those who are new or newish to Axedale
I am particularly keen to create a photo archive here of the early days of Axedale. If you have photos that you think would be interesting for others to see, please leave a comment below. You can also send me a private message through the Axedale Then and Now Facebook Page if you prefer. I can also be contacted by email at jones.jenniferalison@gmail.com
I am very excited about this project and looking forward to seeing it develop, but I am relying on input and assistance from others.
What do you think? Would you like to take a few minutes out of your busy day and talk to me about your experience of Axedale – then and now.
Do you have any historic photos that you would be willing to share? Please leave any comments below.
Best wishes for the project Jennifer.

Great idea Jennifer. I am descended from Jonathon Harris (d1881 & buried Axedale). If I can help with any info on him let me know.
